The school is situated on the Anoopshahr Road near Jamalpur Railway Crossing approximately 5 kms from Aligarh Railway Station. The school prepares students for All India Secondary/Sr. Sec. School Examination (Class X/XII) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi. It also caters for separate residential facilities to Boys and Girls from classes VI to XII. The medium of instruction is English at all levels.
The school has separate well-equipped science laboratories viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, computer Science and Mathematics for Secondary/Sr. Sec. level. These laboratories provide opportunities to understand the subject well through experiments done under the supervision of qualified and experienced teachers.
The school has a well established & spacious library. The library has on its shelves a large number of text books, story-books, Encyclopedia, reference books and books on moral values and general knowledge in English, Hindi and Urdu. The library has regular subscription to competitive examination magazines such as Science Reporter, Competition Success Review, journals and periodicals alongwith national/local newspapers. The students avail the library facilities through the library membership card valid for one academic year. The library is fully automated with barcode technology for the issue and return of books using Alice for Window Library software.

The Night boarding of Al Barkaat public School conducted an English class for class VI and VII on the projector under the guidance of the night boarding incharge Mr. Ebadul Haque in the presence of English teacher Mr. Mahtab Ahmad and the projector room cum media incharge Mr. Syed Ashar Ali.
Mr. Ebadul Haque is reported to have said that – there will be a weekly period for every class by rotation for spoken and communicative English. He further said, “Seeing is believing.” The students can understand much better through audio-visual media. They can remember many things such as new words, pronunciation and body language etc. The students took keen interest in this method of teaching and learning process. The teacher of English Mr. Mahtab Ahmad organized the role play at every step of the lesson and explained the relevant terms. The students participated actively. First they did it with the help of paper. Then, the teacher asked them to do it without the paper on their own. They participated eagerly and performed better.
Mrs. Sabiha Khan, the Principal, Al Barkaat Public School appreciated this initiative saying that this type of activity should go on regularly for the all round development of the children in spoken English and also the progress and growth of the school.
Student Kaif khan of Class VI said that he grasped everything much better. Rehan Mustafa from Katihar of Class VI and M. Junaid Raza of Barabanki said that they learnt the appropriate usage of words and saw new words, the spellings and pronunciation etc. to make the communication more effective.
