Al-Barkaat Public School (+2)

The school is situated on the Anoopshahr Road near Jamalpur Railway Crossing approximately 5 kms from Aligarh Railway Station. The school prepares students for All India Secondary/Sr. Sec. School Examination (Class X/XII) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi. It also caters for separate residential facilities to Boys and Girls from classes VI to XII. The medium of instruction is English at all levels.
The school has separate well-equipped science laboratories viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, computer Science and Mathematics for Secondary/Sr. Sec. level. These laboratories provide opportunities to understand the subject well through experiments done under the supervision of qualified and experienced teachers.
The school has a well established & spacious library. The library has on its shelves a large number of text books, story-books, Encyclopedia, reference books and books on moral values and general knowledge in English, Hindi and Urdu. The library has regular subscription to competitive examination magazines such as Science Reporter, Competition Success Review, journals and periodicals alongwith national/local newspapers. The students avail the library facilities through the library membership card valid for one academic year. The library is fully automated with barcode technology for the issue and return of books using Alice for Window Library software.

Football Fever Calms Down in Al-Barkaat

The coveted carnival of football continued for a week and ended in a fabulous finish. The final match was played between Sports Hotspur and Barkaatian Sporting amid the pleasant wet winter with a warm welcome of Mr. Taufiq Alam, Secretary, District Football Association, Mr. Amit, Football Coach,District Sports Stadium, Aligarh, The Principal Mrs. Sabiha Khan and Mrs. Tahira Hussain HOD of the Girls` section.
The match ended with a nail biting finish for the Tie-Breaker in which Sports Hotspur owned by Mr. Ather Hussain Qazi conceded a Golden Gold to lift the trophy. Mr. S. Ashar Ali Was the owner of the runner up Barkaatian Sporting. The Secretary Football Association gave away the trophy to the Winner.
The runner-up trophy was given by the Football Coach. The Principal distributed the medals to the winners and the runner-up medals were given away by the HOD, Girls` section.
Mr. Safiur Rehman looked after the Referee ship throughout. Mr. Danish Mohsin, Games Incharge, Dr. Babul Akhter and Ms. Seema Zaitoon managed the event very successfully.

All India Hindi Olympiad At Al-Barkaat

Al-Barkaat 29, December
All India Hindi Olympiad Competition was held at Al-Barkaat Public School organized by Mahatma Gandhi National Language Promotion Organisation. It was held on a large scale for 6th to 10th class students about 500 in all.
The main objective of the organization is to promote and propagate the National Language for which this competition is organized every year. Mr. Khurram Rubab, Mr. Deepak Kumar Gupta, Mrs. Shama Ovais and Mrs Fatima Khatoon organized the competition successfully.
The competition came off very well under the guidance of Mrs. Sabiha Khan, the Principal and Mrs. Tahira Hussain, HOD, Qadiria Girls Section

The football carnival 2010 started with a great ostentation and show in Al-Barkaat Public School. The two matchs were played on the opening day. The first match was played between Barkaatian Warrior and Barkaatian Hotspur. S. M. Atif and Nawajish Khan are the captains. Barkaatian Hotspur won by 4-0. Mustafa Kamal scored two goals. Tulaib Bin Ayyub and Maaz scored 1 goal each.
In the other match, Barkaatian Skyscrapers took on Barkaatian Stars in which Barkaatian Stars won by 1-0. Shoeb Zama and M. Atif were the skippers. Master Adil scored a goal by the corner kick. Mr. Riyaz Ul Haque is the owner of Barkaatian Stars. Mr. Athar is the owner of Barkaatian Hotspur.
Mrs. Sabiha Khan, the Principal, Mrs. Tahira Husain, HOD, Qadiria Girls’ Section, declared the tournament open and encouraged the children. Mr. Danish Mohsin, Dr. Babul Akhtar, Ms. Seema, Mr. Shafi Ur Rehman and the teachers organised the games.

Al-Barkaat 27, December
Al-Barkaat earned a laurel to its name by defeating Heritage International School by 3 – 0 in volleyball final match of the tournament here on December 24 2010. The success of the children is attributed to the games teacher and the coach Mr. Danish Mohsin and Dr. Babul Akhtar.
Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddqui, Joint Secretary, ABES, Dr. F. U. Siddiqui, Coordinator, ABEIs, Mrs. Sabiha Khan, the Pricipal, Mrs. Tahira Husain, HOD Girls Section, Mrs. Saba Haque, Headmistress and Mrs. Tabassum Saqlain, Incharge Nursery Section and all the teachers congratulated the children on their tremendous achievement and wished them a huge success ahead in future.

The National Consumer Day was observed by holding consumer awareness campaign competition for Class XI Commerce at Al-Barkaat Public school. Students displayed the dealings at different shops enacting the role of unaware customers and how they are duped by the shopkeepers. Interestingly, a consumer court was also set up giving the verdict in favour of innocent customers. Under the consumer protection Act 1986 various rights such as Right to be protected, Right to be informed, Right to be heard, Right to seek redressal and right to consumer education were elaborated. The children interpreted some responsibilities such as to check MRP and bill, to buy ISI, Agmark products, to assess quality of product and seek assistance from the consumer forum etc.  Deepti Dixit, Nazish Khan, Ramsa Jaan, Sumaiya Parveen and Neha Nazreen stood first in the competition. Sifat Khan, Nikhat Fatima, Zeba Choudhary, Muzzah, Heera Khan and Iram Khan bagged the second prize. Askari Hussain ,Asad Kalam, Ahmad Nabeel  M.Faizan, Labeeb Ahmad and  Afzal Imam were adjudged the Third. The Consolation prize was won by M.Muteeb, Shakti Varshney, M.Shaquib, Shahab Khan and Kamil Khan. Dr. F.U Siddiqui Co-ordinator ABEIs paid a guest visit. Principal Mrs Sabiha Khan and PGT (Geography) Miss Rehana were the judges of the competition. Miss Sadaf Sabir, Miss Nazia Kausar and Mr. Shoeb hosted the event.

Fancy Dress Competition At Al-Barkaat

Aligarh: A fancy dress competition was organized with a great pomp and show at Al Barkaat Juniors wing. Dr. Azra Iraqi, Former Senior Pediatrician, JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University and Mrs. Nasreen Bano, Principal, Girls City High School, Qazipara graced the occasion as the chief guests. Dr. Azra Said, “Junk food is very harmful for the children. It leads to various diseases like obesity, acidity and heart ailments.” She suggested the children to use the home made food for keeping themselves physically and mentally fit. She advised the parents also to take care of it. Mrs. Nasreen Bano appreciated and encouraged the children for their fabulous performance. She said, “These types of programme should be organized from time to time for their overall personality development.”  
Mrs. Saba Haque, Headmistress of the junior wing welcomed the chief guests and the dignitaries from the core of the heart saying that the presence of these personalities add glory to the programme and encourage the children. Mrs. Sabiha Khan Principal, ABPS, Mrs. Tahira Husain, HOD, Girls Section, Mrs. Tabassum Saqlain, Incharge Primary Section, Art & Craft Incharge Mrs. Nadira Ahmad and guests glorified the programme with their benign presence. The programme was compered by Ms. Shazia Rashid.
The competition was divided into three categories. Muntaha Mirza of class I A was  adjudged first as watermelon, Iffah Izhar of class I B stood second as cabbage under “Healthy & Junk food Category”. Sheeraz of Class I C  bagged Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, as a renowned person under “freedom fighters category”. Ahmad Hamza Zainab of class II A won as Goa, Faraz Khan Of II B as Punjab and Areeba Siddiqui II C as Kerela respectively under “People from different states of India”.
The entire teaching staff, the children and the parents were present on the occasion.

Al-Barkaat Sets Flag in Taekwondo

Lucknow: The Aligarh District was adjudged First in the second state Inter District Taekwondo Championship held here on December 19. Al-Barkaat Public School was one of the participants in the district. It bagged 20 Gold, 13 Silver and 2 Bronze medals respectively. Around 35 students from class III to VIII participated in all and they came with a flying colour. The students who won Gold are Kashif,Rahat Abbas class III, M. Kareem, M.Sahil, S.M Khubaib, Vijendra Pal, Manish Kumar, M.Asif, Mehmood ur Rehman class V, M. Azam  Naqvi, M.Faraz, Aquib Javed, Ahmad Taha,Khushnood Zia ,Haris Baig,M. Ahmad Khan,Sajid Hussain,Mukarram,Haria Nawaz and M.Danish class VI,VII,VIII. Taha,Abdullah class III,M.Funsab Nadeem,Roop Kishore,M.Talib class V, M.Faizan ,M.zaidi class VI,Shabaz Raza,M.Wasif,Asad,Hassan Ali Khan class VII, and Venkat Gautam class VIII bagged Silver while Adnan class III and Aurangzeb Mamoon class IV won Bronze Medals. Games Teachers Md Safiur Rehman and Ms. Taskeen Zaheer accompanied the children.

“Umr bhar such ke sewa kucch na kaha”
(Told nothing but the truth throughout my life)
Aligarh: Prof. Akhlaq Mohd. Khan Shahryar eve was organized amidst rosy winter at Al-Barkaat situated on the Anoopshahr Road. Prof. S.M Amin Sb, President, Al-Barkaat Educational Society and Prof. Iftekhar Alam presented a beautiful portrait, books and a memento to Prof. Shahryar on behalf of the ABPS Management. Prof. Amin Sb started the programme with his welcome speech. He gave a brief introduction of Shahryar and his achievements.
When Prof. Iftekhar Alam, renowned Professor Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University described the personality of shahryar in a couplet, the whole library hall echoed with a huge round of applause. He said”Whenever he wanted to understand Shahryar, he took the help of his own famous book “kulliyat-e-shahryar” from which the couplets describe him the most.
First-“Mere sewa har ek se duniya ye poochti rahi, Mujhsa jo ek shaks tha pathar me kab badal gaya?”(The world asked everyone except me,When there was a man like me changed into stone?)
Second-“Umr bhar such hi kaha – such ke sewa kucch na kaha, Ajr kya hoga kabhi na socha hamne”.(I told nothing but the truth throughout my life, And never thought of the results whatsoever be)
Prof. Iftekhar recited Shahryar`s poems on Pakistan, current situations and other topics as well.                     Prof Shahryar said, ”What I have got is the love and respect of my friends. What I have got is the love of all. The rewards and honours seem good when all are together. Friends have always given me love and respect and have never taken anything except the same.”
Mr. S. M. Afzal, IG Gawalior and Former A.M.U registrar also recited his own couplets –“Na koi khirki na darwaza wapsi ke liye,Makane khwab me jaane ke saikron dar hain”(No doors and windows to come back, There are hundreds of doors  to dreams dwelling)
Conducting the Programme successfully Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui, Joint Secretary ABES, recited several couplets. In this series Mr. Rizwanur Rizwan, Saghar Sitapuri, Abid Ali Abid and Prof Sagheer Afrahim too presented their couplets
On this occasion, the school music teacher Mr. Shahid Parvez sang the lyrics of Shahryar – “Seene Mein Jalan, Aankhon mein tufan sa kiyun hai?” (Why is the heart burning and something of a storm in the eyes?).
The school art teacher Ms. Anubha Singh made a portrait of Prof. Shahryar.
